Retargeting

What is retargeting?

Retargeting, also known as remarketing, is a form of online advertising that can help you show your brand/service to your online visitors who did not convert on their first visit. For most websites, an average of only 2% of web traffic converts on the first visit. Retargeting is a process that enables companies to reach the 98% of users who don’t convert immediately.

Is retargeting necessary?

The short answer is, Yes! Online businesses get 98% of their visitors leaving without converting or making a purchase. 72% of online shoppers abandone their carts, without retargeting only 8% of them return to complete their transactions. With retargeting the percentage of visitors who return to complete the check-out process increases to 26%.In some industries, retargeting can lead to a 147% higher conversion rate over time when combined with prospecting.

How does it work?

Retargeting works by placing a javascript code (Facebook pixel) on your website or store. The Facebook pixel adds a site tracking tag to your website or store. This tag is completely invisible to visitors and places a unique "cookie" in their browser that lets the user be anonymously identified as having visited your web site. The users cookied in this way make up what is called a Retargeting Audience. This allows AdGeek to show retargeted ads to the Retargeting Audience on Facebook and other websites through Facebook's ad network.
